Our initial ambitions were clear: to find investment products that were not only transparently priced, but good to fall back on as “wealth defenders”, and not subject to the sorts of risks that the current financial market is experiencing.
Real, physical gold and silver bullion were two investment products that ticked every box.
When we decided to invest in physical gold and silver for ourselves the major logistical and security challenges for would-be gold investors in the Netherlands became clear: there were no realistic, safe and cost-effective solutions that would allow us to invest in physical gold or silver on the market.
This led directly to the creation of GoldRepublic and gave us further ambitions for the varieties of service we could offer our clients.
With our background and experience of both financial markets and emerging Internet technologies we knew that the combination of online technology and the traditional way of owning physical gold would give us the opportunity to offer a unique service marrying the security of physical ownership with the flexibility of online trading.
The creation of GoldRepublic allowed us to give our clients access to an investment that is not dependent on the unpredictable nature and risks of the financial markets, but a tangible, physical product that lasts for thousands of years and has served as currency in times of financial instability and uncertainty.
