The silver price reached €809/kg around the same time - the highest level since August 2020!
Major Silver Price Breakout
Despite recent increases, silver remains relatively affordably priced.
In my newsletter from March 14th, when silver was at €733 per kilo, I already pointed out the potential for a price increase. Since then, the price has risen by 9%.
We are still 31% away from the 2011 'peak' of €1,050 per kilo. Looking at the peak, adjusted for inflation, the price is even higher. Moreover, I have pointed out several times the interesting dynamics of the gold/silver ratio. This ratio is currently 87, meaning 1 kg of gold is currently 87 times as expensive as 1 kg of silver. In April 2011, this ratio was only 31. Should the gold price remain at its current level - which is not at all strange considering the macroeconomic situation - and the gold/silver ratio drop to 31, this would mean a silver price of €2,189 per kilo, a potential 173% increase! However, it's important to realize that investing in silver is more speculative than gold, partly because silver prices have been/are long influenced by the paper market. For those interested in purchasing physical silver, this can easily be done via our website or app, giving you access to the current rates at all times.

Silver, priced in Yen
As you've come to expect from us, we usually present silver prices in euros, although purchasing silver in both dollars and pounds is also possible with GoldRepublic.
Interestingly, the silver price, when expressed in Yen, is close to reaching its 2011 peak. In US dollars, silver is currently priced at $27 per ounce, with a record high of $50. Should the US dollar weaken further as silver approaches its 2011 peaks (in dollars), this could lead to nearly a doubling of the current price.
Buy Physical Silver?
Therefore, it remains an intriguing consideration to add physical silver to your investment portfolio. Naturally, I will continue to provide you with the latest updates from the precious metals market. Until next time!
